I looked back at the first Squirrel Show blurb today. Coming up on 3 years!?! It’s surreal. To see a moment when we were stating in to a pandemic. Distance. The unknown. Community. Support. And the beginning of new difficulties. As for the show, blurb #3 (April 30th, 2020) sums it up pretty well:
Hey y’all, The Squirrel Show is back! Live, from Oliver Steck’s garage! Tonight at 7:30pm, CST, on my regular Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/oliver.steck.56).
Will there be special guest stars? I dunno.
Musical requests? I’ll try.
Dancing? Uh…
Talking to the neighbors as they walk by? Yeah, that’ll probably happen.
Making up a bunch of entertainment because I’m still trying to figure out how to put a coherent show together and despite being unemployed I can’t seem to find the time to do this one freaking simple and productive step that would make my life so much easier and ultimately result in a higher standard of entertainment that won’t leave a bunch of people saying to themselves (or me) wtf is he doing and why am I watching this frenetic and over exuberant attempt at entertainment?!?

There were a lot of comments and helpful suggestions back then: list it as a reoccurring show, broadcast to a different platform, etc. I was overwhelmed and I didn’t do any of that. But the show is still here. I have other shows now too. Here’s the next week, and February:
